Pastor Bo Bolding
Bo Bolding is the founding pastor of Crossroads Community Church. Bo was born in Norman, Oklahoma, but was raised in Texas in a Southern Baptist home. While Bo was in college at Texas A&M, a friend began challenging him to read certain books of the Bible, including 1 John. Taking up the challenge, Bo began to see God and His Word in a new light. During the next several months God really won Bo's heart.
After graduating from Texas A&M, Bo decided to do some short-term mission work before entering the work force. He served in Youth With A Mission for several years and while there met and married his wife, Beth.
After leaving Youth With A Mission, the Boldings moved to Kilgore, and Bo went to work for his father in the oil business, while he also served as a youth pastor for a local church. During this season of Bo's life, his heart was beating hard for ministry. After a close friend suggested the possibility of attending seminary, Bo prayed about it and decided this was God's will for him and his family. The Bolding family, at that point also including two sons, moved to Deerfield, Illinois, where Bo attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. While there, Bo felt God leading him to plant a church.
After graduation, Bo, with his wife and a handful of committed brothers and sisters in the Lord, returned to East Texas and, in 1993, founded Crossroads Community Church. Just a few years later, following another leading, Bo started (with a handful of committed families) the Christian Heritage School of Longview. He has served in many roles there as it has developed--including co-founder, teacher, principal and board member. Bo currently serves on the Board of Directors at the school.
Bo's passions include being on mission with God as He leads, teaching God's Word, leading in musical worship, enjoying family relationships, playing basketball, and, of course, eating chips and hot sauce!
